Ranking in Google still matters. But in 2026, agents also need to think about how AI systems understand, summarise and recommend local expertise. If your entire online presence lives on a corporate domain, you are making that harder than it needs to be.

The search behaviour is changing

People no longer only type short keywords into Google. They ask longer questions. They ask AI tools to compare options. They ask who knows a suburb, what to watch in a market and what kind of agent suits a situation.

AI systems need clear signals. Who are you? Where do you work? What do you know? What proof exists? Can your information be trusted across multiple sources?

Corporate profile pages are not enough

A corporate profile page can be useful, but it rarely builds a full independent entity around the agent. It often has thin copy, limited structure, shared templates and weak ownership of content.

If an AI model is trying to understand who the Papakura, Karaka or South Auckland expert is, a thin profile page is a weak signal. An owned website with suburb pages, useful articles, testimonials, listings, schema and consistent contact details is much stronger.

What agents should build

Google Search Central says its systems aim to reward helpful, reliable, people-first content. That is the north star. Do not write for robots. Write clearly enough that robots and humans can both understand why you are credible.

Schema is not magic, but it helps

Structured data is a standard way to describe what a page is about. Google documentation describes LocalBusiness structured data as a way to provide details such as hours, departments and business information in a machine-readable format.

For agents, the principle is simple: make your identity, location, services and proof easier to parse. Do not leave AI systems guessing.

The goal is not to trick AI models. The goal is to become a clear, consistent, well-supported entity online.

The AgentPulse angle

AgentPulse gives agents the structure to build this authority on their own domain. Website, content, suburb pages, tools, schema, lead funnels and analytics all connect. That is how you become more than a name on a brokerage page.
